How to Enable 2FA to secure access to the Digitalciti Portal

In today's world, 2FA/MFA (2 factor and multi factor authentication) are becoming the norm.  This allows you to secure access to private information such as credit card, products subscriptions, support tickets, etc. in the event you lose your password or your account gets compromised.  This works by using a 3rd party authenticator app and a time based token thats entered in addition to your username and password while accessing https://support.digitalciti.com/.  This is not required, but its a great way to secure your account and we highly recommend it.

First you will need to download an authenticator app to your cell phone (Both can be found in your phones respective App Store):

  1. Google Authenticator
  2. Authy

The second thing required is to enable 2FA within the portal:

  1. Navigate to https://support.digitalciti.com/
  2. Login using your email and password (use the forgot password link if you lost access)
  3. Browse to the upper right hand corner and click on "your name" and then select "Security Settings"
  4. You will see "Two Factor Authentication" and a button "Click to Enable"
  5. You will see a popup that says "Time Based Tokens" and a button "Get Started"
  6. In the next screen you will see a QR code which can be scanned by the cell phone app, alternatively you can enter the text based code at the top in Bold
  7. Once this is complete, you will be required to enter the code being displayed from the authenticator app on your cell phone
  8. Done
